Post-Doctoral Fellowship to undertake archaeological research

Our research project invites scholars with a recent PhD in a range of fields to join us by applying for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship. We can find a topic that works well for both your research career and our archaeological field project in Armenia. Many such topics are possible, so a recent PhD in archaeology, computer science, history, or many other fields could be applicable.

The main Fellowship to which you can apply for working with our team at the University of Hong Kong (HKU) is the Hong Kong RGC Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme, which is supported by the Hong Kong government, for up to 3 years. The due date for this is in the Fall of each year. It should be noted that the program is extremely competitive. Applicants should have an excellent academic record, and publications are very helpful.

The application process  requires documents such as a CV, publications list, and research proposal. The applicant would indicate their interest in working with our archaeological fieldwork project. Applicants will need to demonstrate their dedication and commitment to the fieldwork project in Armenia beforehand by volunteering in Armenia during a prior summer. Please contact Prof. Peter J. Cobb by email before the due date to express interest and begin preparations.

The HKU Faculty of Arts also hosts a Society of Fellows in the Humanities, with applications due in early January.
