Volunteer

Archaeology is open when everyone participates. We invite you to join our team! Volunteers work on a variety of projects, from fieldwork to online mapping and everything in between. Volunteers can work remotely online, from anywhere in the world, or join us on one of our field projects. Everyone has a skill they can contribute, and many new skills can be learned as we work together. Whether you are a seasoned computer programmer or you are interested in learning completely new digital skills, whether you want to walk through stunning landscapes for hours a day or pour over maps from home, there is a place for you.

It can be challenging to commit to undertaking volunteer work, but for people who demonstrate a few months of commitment, reliability, and attention to detail with our project, you may begin to qualify for paid data entry positions. Please contact Dr. Peter J. Cobb by email to express interest.

There are multiple other ways to join our project, including as a funded PhD student, please explore other ways to join us here.
